Marcello Lippi booed at a song contest

And he did not even sing!

The Squadra Azzura coach came to the San Remo music festival to back the grandson of Italy’s last King, Pupo Emanuele Filiberto. Not the easiest thing to do considering the never-ending controversy inherited from the relations of the royal family with the fascist regime of Mussolini during WW2.

I’m not even commenting the song and the lyrics. Sounds like the guys were trying to re-write the Italian national anthem…

Funniest moment of the video:

At 3.40 when the crowd starts chanting “Cassano, Cassano” (San Remo is just 150 km away from Genova). Lippi has many times refused to call up the out of control Sampdoria forward. The irony of it all is Cassano was a guest at the San Remo festival the day before. The following video is for you if you want to check his girl and hear him speak Barese dialect.
